In honor of legendary mezzo-soprano Joyce Castle's birthday, enjoy a selection of musical memories from her recent concert in Des Moines with our very own Maestro David Neely at the piano. With a storied career spanning 50+ years and over 140 roles, Joyce has collaborated with Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim, Beverly Sills, and Michael Tilson Thomas, to name a few, and has graced the stages of the The Metropolitan Opera, Santa Fe Opera, San Francisco Opera, Washington National Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and Des Moines Metro Opera for five unforgettable role debuts. Join us in wishing a happy birthday to the one and only, Joyce Castle!
